Life, as I know it, is over

Today, I joined Facebook.  Now, before you yell too quickly, hear me out.  I recently discovered that my mother-in-law and my best friend's parents are Facebook members (I'd like to say fanatics but honestly I have no idea how often they actually frequent the site).  I mean, even my sister is on it!  I decided it was time for me to break the pact (the one I had with myself) and join the devil himself on Facebook.

Also, now I get to see pictures of my best friend's adorable new baby girl, Madalyn Joy.

Happy networking!

And so it begins! Soon you'll be just as addicted as you are to Puzzle Pirates. Myspace, lookout! Amanda's comin'!!!!

No Myspace. I've already ventured into those waters and I will not be returning. I'm merely doing the Facebook thing to keep connected with my family (seriously, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, I know is on Facebook. Even my mom!).

Amanda Jenn,

Long-time reader, first time poster. Your friend and one of your former flatmates from London here, sounding out my ever expanding loneliness as one NOT on Facebook (which I would venture to say proves you know someone that is not on Facebook--so not quite EVERYONE you know is there, even though your mom is cooler than me). I am not a hater, just can't do it. And I don't judge you for getting on, just hope you can abstain from the frenzy and addiction of 'poking' and 'scrabulus' or whatever the crap is on Facebook. Beware the Ides of March, dear friend. Brutus is lurking in those online weeds. But enjoy the benefits of lots of pictures and connections otherwise difficult. Choose wisely. Stay sane. And in the immortal words of Tupac, Keep Your Head Up.

Peace,
John

Hey John!

Thanks for the words of warning. I have been putting off the Facebook thing for years and after many discussions and chidings, I finally gave in. Stay strong my friend.
