We are officially unveiling our new blogsite.  Our household has been busily humming along to get this piece of art to your screens.  We hope you enjoy (and don't forget to bookmark the new blog as I will be using that one exclusively).

Smaller than a bread box, bigger than a pea

So I have this really important paper due on February 13th.  The paper is for law review and has to be at least 40 pages long, well-researched and of publishable quality.  If I don't receiving a passing grade for the paper, then I will not pass law review which means I will be 6 units short from graduating (which you know what that spells - D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R).  

Last semester Joel and I were super into the election so I decided to write my paper on election law.  Naturally I only did the bare minimum (not purely out of laziness...last semester happened to be a very hectic semester) and now I have to turn in 20 pages of my paper on Monday.  So, I thought that it was about time to get started on the thing.

I sat down last Monday to begin the writing process and somehow was able to postpone putting words on a page until 2 days ago.  To say that I am a bit stressed is an understatement.  My procrastination was getting especially out of hand and I noticed that the rest of my world was tumbling as well.  The kitchen was a mess, I was forgetting to feed the cat, and we were eating out every night because I had not gone grocery shopping in a very long time.  Drastic measures had to be taken.  So I went to the source.  The internet.

Since I was experiencing VERY little self-control when it came to surfing the internet, I did the only thing I knew how to do. I begged Joel to take the modem to work with him the next day (yesterday) so that I could not physically go onto the internet.  Well, internet, it worked!  Kinda.

On my way home from a very long day at school, I stopped by the post office and mailed off a book, I donated our old items to the Goodwill, and I finally went grocery shopping.  When I got home I washed the mountain of dishes, put the grocery away, then made a chicken roast.  However, I did not work on my paper.

So Joel took the modem again today.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are lax days since I only have one class for an hour.  I got home around 1 today, made some lunch then watched some Friends until I fell asleep.  So I guess if I'm not on the internet, then I'm sleeping?  I'm not quite sure what this says about me.  I finally woke up around 5 completely drenched in sweat and quite delirious.  I felt this was the time to start my paper.  The adrenaline kicked in and I whipped out 3 1/2 pages single spaced!  Success!  I'm slowly eaking out those 20 pages due on Monday.  Needless to say, Joel will definitely be taking the internet with him again tomorrow.

Exciting times at the Myers household

Joel has been feverishly working on branding us (everytime I say that I feel like a cow).  Soon we'll be revealing a new website and that means a new blog!!!

Don't worry.  I wouldn't leave you out in the cold.  When we're ready to make the switch over to the cool and exciting blog I'll give you all the address and time (yes, I control time!) to switch.  Unfortunately, this is the extent of our excitement.  

School started last week and I am thoroughly not enjoying it.  My best class starts at 8:40 in the am Wednesday and Friday.  I can't think of a worse schedule being that I am so in love with morning.  The only thing that made last week somewhat palatable (besides seeing my dear dear friends) was the incredible weather we've been having.  

In fact, some days were even too hot!  To the point that I was sweating if I was outside for any length of time.  But, the heat was incredible as I raced down PCH with the windows and sunroof open (Harvey comes with a sunroof!!!!) and my favorite songs blasting on the radio.  Words hardly describe how perfect the sun was as it reflected off the Pacific Ocean.  I felt human.  A feeling I haven't had in awhile.  I'm hoping this heat wave lasts, but seeing as how we are in the middle of winter I'm thinking it won't.

On another note, I can hardly contain my excitement for tomorrow.  I have a feeling I will be glued to my computer all day (we don't have TV) watching all the festivities instead of writing that damn law review paper.  Happy Inauguration Day!

After three fantastic years its time for us to separate.  Even though you will be gone, the memories are still well and alive.  I will never forget your amazing ability to haul ass (figuratively) and crap (literally - your badunka-dunk was so HUGE that I was able to always fit all my earthly belongings in your crevices).

Thank you for serving me so faithfully and for sometimes cooling me down with your a/c (although you had a funny nact of only running your a/c when it was cool outside and not when it was boiling hot).  

Its true that we now use Harvey exclusively, but trust me when I say I'd rather be caressing your soft seats than Harvey's.  Yes, he's younger and cooler.  But you always brought me the beautiful ramblings of NPR hosts and were never reluctant to race down PCH (two things Harvey is very reluctant to do).

I hope you and your new owner have has many fantastic memories as we do.

Life, as I know it, is over

Today, I joined Facebook.  Now, before you yell too quickly, hear me out.  I recently discovered that my mother-in-law and my best friend's parents are Facebook members (I'd like to say fanatics but honestly I have no idea how often they actually frequent the site).  I mean, even my sister is on it!  I decided it was time for me to break the pact (the one I had with myself) and join the devil himself on Facebook.

Also, now I get to see pictures of my best friend's adorable new baby girl, Madalyn Joy.

My dear friend Mel tagged me.  I love tag!  We used to play in middle school.  We would run around the playground shrieking with delight and every so often when the cute boys were chasing me (ahem, Hunter - I had a thing for the skinny white boys) I would slow up a bit so they could tag me.  Somehow, this doesn't seem quite as fun.  Sorry guys, but now you have to read 6 random facts about me.

1.  I love playing Sim City and Puzzle Pirates.  I find these activities often take over and 10 hours later I realize that its no longer light outside and I'm still in my pajamas.

2.  Secretly, I love watching smut TV such as America's Next Top Model, Lipstick Jungle, and other unsavory TV series found online.

3.  I wish we were back in London.

4.  Sometimes I imagine a quiet life on a farm with a bajillion animals and a brood of kids and think "how nice!"  Then I snap back to reality and wonder what the hell just happened.

5.  Joel and I are so lonely living in Santa Monica and often think about how nice it would be to move back to Orange County or to some other State where we have friends. 

6.  I have had 5 street sweeping tickets since moving to SM and am considering taking up the business myself.  Those buggers make off like bandits!

Done, done and done!

Now, I get to waste my brainpower on pointless TV and video games.  Vacation, how I love thee!
