also, the house situation in london turned out well and we will be receiving back our full deposit ($7200) in the next few days. we also do not have to pay council tax (sort of like property tax but its paid yearly by who ever is living in the property) which saved us $2400. so, overall good news today.
today was the first day of school. i have mixed feelings. it was so so so great to see all my london friends. my two main classes are packed full of londoners so it reduced the shock of being back in malibu. i think this will be a good semester. i am taking evidence with a visiting professor who is supposed to be amazing. i am taking corporations with an excellent professor who has taught this class for 25 years. she is going to split us up into groups of 2-3 people and give each group "$500,000" to invest in the stock market during the semester. the top 6 teams get prizes. i am in a negotiation class that has a large role-playing element. tomorrow i have my micro-enterprise class which is ironic because this was my area of studies at biola (not to mention honduras). i think its going to be a great class (but i already have 80+ pages to read for tomorrow - the first class - and i have a 2 page paper due. did i mention this was a 2-unit elective?) i have law review (which i heard today is time-consuming and difficult. great.) and last but not least a family law clinic. this clinic takes place at the union rescue mission on skid row and deals with family issues such as custody, etc.
this is no london but i am glad to be back in school and moving on with life. each day that class goes by means one day closer to being married. i cant wait!
